![]() I understand I can purchase an extended warranty, but with that aside, I would hope Ford would take care of it if this scenario happens. I have tried telling myself to stop worrying about it and just drive it, but that is easier said than done. The information inthis Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) was current at the time of printing. Warranty Policy and Extended Service Plan documentation determine Warranty and/or Extended Service Plan coverage unless stated otherwise in the TSB article. ![]() Enter vehicle year make model below to get started. Contact a Ford or Lincoln dealership to determine whether the Bulletin applies to your vehicle. Here is my question: If my engine were to bite the dust and it showed the symptoms that fall under this TSB after my warranty period is over (I will definitely reach 3 years before 36K miles), will Ford cover this? Logically, if it is exactly the same issues in the TSB combined with the fact that I have abnormally low mileage, I would think they would cover it. If you’re not sure what a TSB is, here is a good description on Wikipedia. However, the mileage where the problem usually presents itself varies and I am worried that since I have very low mileage on my truck, it could start showing the symptoms later on and this TSB would apply. ![]() I realize that there are probably tens of thousands of the engines that were affected, and only a small percentage have had the related problems so maybe "many" isn't the right wording. Many folks that fall within the TSB have had their engine replaced, some even twice. I have since started driving the long way to work so that it at least gets to operating temperature and I do an Italian tune up once in a while. I believe the issue with that is that I drive just 2 miles to work from my house and the engine doesn't even get to operating temperature. ![]() It's been to the dealership twice for the same problem, a defective purge valve that sticks open. I have been concerned with my engine being one of the defective engines, but I doesn't burn a drop of oil, it runs great, and doesn't smoke as of right now at least. My engine build date is May 2016, so I am within the TSB mentioned above. Replacement Service Bulletin Number: N/A. I have done 3 oil changes already (yeah I know, but makes me feel better). I have a 2016 Ford F150, 2.7 Ecoboost engine, blue flame metallic, purchased October 2016, currently has 12,000 miles. ![]()
